The Controller will provide daily administration and leadership of PacerPro’s overall accounting function.  Initially, the Controller will be individually responsible for all accounting related functions, including management of receivables and payables.  This person will be integral in the definition, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to ensure strong financial controls and compliance, as well as conformity to generally accepted accounting principles.  The Controller will ensure the Company’s financial/accounting systems are accurate, reliable and will accommodate continued growth.  The Controller will be well versed in financial reporting, financial account analysis and audit management to be successful in this position.  The Controller will also be responsible for in-house human resource activities while working with third party professionals.  In addition to working directly with the PacerPro management team, the Controller will have significant dealings with the Board of Directors and outside investors.  Lastly, this individual should have strong interpersonal, presentation, managerial and analytical skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • All responsibilities require the Controller to be hands-on in an early stage, growth-oriented business
  • Manage the overall accounting close to meet reporting deadlines
  • Preparation of internal financial statements and related analyses
  • Review actual results against applicable budget and perform specific variance analysis, as necessary
  • Preparation of annual budget
  • Development of KPIs and related operational metrics
  • Lead selection and implementation of accounting platform
  • Implement multi-state sales tax compliance review and reporting
  • Manage human resource requirements for the business
  • Work with the Company’s external auditor to ensure the timely completion of annual audit
  • Perform or lead special projects as assigned by the PacerPro CEO

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Thorough command of GAAP accounting standards
  • Prior hands on experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Public Accounting staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills dealing with persons from various professional backgrounds
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel skills
